Tribune on the tubes

The Islington Tribune has picked up my comments on the legacy of Gordon Brown’s disastrous PPP for the tube.

They’ve quoted me as saying “the public is being asked to pay three times the rate for the job, plus face disruption”. I actually said that the public is being asked to pay three times over for the job- through taxes, through fare rises and through the costs of disruption.

One of the problems with the PPP is we have no idea what the ‘rate for the job’ is. So both could be true!
