Miles not Knives

Worrying news of another stabbing in our area.

That follows the stabbing in a fight at Bentham Court (just across the road from where I live) last month.

Thankfully in neither of these cases are the injuries reported as life-threatening. Unlike the series of stabbing deaths last year.

But it does show that we need to remain vigilant against knife crime, even if the recession has knocked it out of the news headlines. And part of that is changing attitudes. Hopefully initiatives like shows of the play Boy X will help.

As should the 24 hour walk ‘Miles not Knives’ planned by campaigner Danny O’Brien. I will be supporting the march on 23 May and hope many others will join us.

it is not a march, but a 24 hour walk between ARSENAL and TOTTENHAM football clubs. I will be starting at 10am on MAY 30TH at North Road where we lost a teenager last year to knife crime and then walking to Arsenal football club and then onto Tottenham football club and will then continue to walk between both clubs before returning to North road at 10am on MAY 31ST.
The idea is to raise money for an anti-knife fund and awareness to knife crime.
During the walk i plan to change my t-shirt every hour and promote a group that is helping to fight knife and gun crime or a t-shirt of a person lost to street crime.
Anyone willing to sponsor me or donate a t-shirt please do get in touch.
