Islington house prices fall – a bit

The national fall in house prices has finally reached Islington.

Earlier this year our borough seemed to be bucking the trend, but the latest figures show house prices falling here too. Although at 6.3%, the fall is the second lowest in London, with only the City of London (price fall 4.1%) holding value more.

What does this mean for local residents? Still bad news if you want to move into Islington; relatively good news if you’re moving out. A fall of less than 10% is unlikely to land anyone in negative equity.
And of course it’s irrelevant to the majority of us who either aren’t home owners or have no plans to move….
