Another week, another new Mayor… this time it’s Islington’s Mayor, Liberal Democrat Cllr Stefan KaspryzkKasprzyk. He’ll be giving London spellcheckers and toastmasters a challenge for the coming year! Stefan is the perfect synthesis of old and new Islington. Islington born & bred, he’s a former pupil of St Aloysius and champions the once neglected Archway area. Stefan is also a one-man advice bureau for Poles across Islington and beyond, both the wartime émigrés like his parents, and new arrivals. And he is one of the kindest people I know, someone who really gives politicians a good name. Best wishes to him and Magda for a busy year ahead.
